PureSync is a handy software tool that allows you to synchronize folders and back them up. The program allows you to schedule automatic synchronization/backup jobs, and allows you to keep a number of these jobs concurrently active, too. Besides, PureSync is capable of synchronizing files from and to FTP servers, and it can be used to transfer files from one PC to another as well.
For starters, the program allows you to select the type of job you want to create from several options ─ new synchronization, new backup, new photo-sync, and new transfer files. Synchronization jobs allow you to select the two folders you want to keep synchronized in both directions. This means that all the changes made in one of the folders will be reflected on the other automatically. You can set the types of files to be synchronized or excluded from the action, and – optionally – schedule a task for it.
On the other hand, backup jobs perform a similar task as synchronization jobs, but in one direction only. This means you need to define the source and destination folders to be used for the backup. Alternatively, you can activate the mirror mode, which will delete from the destination folder the files and folders deleted from the source folder. These jobs can also be scheduled, of course. Finally, photo-sync jobs are designed to copy photos from your digital camera to your PC, while transfer-file jobs help you move files and folders between two PCs. more
